What changes do you make to your golf swing when hitting into a strong wind?
Here are some important things to remember.- Take at least 1 more club for distance (if its a 7 iron take a 6, 5, or 4 iron).
- Don't swing harder at the ball. Choosing an extra club should allow you to maintain your normal rhythm and tempo.
- SHALLOW OUT your swing. The ball will stay lower and under the wind.
- Try to keep a semi-circle action/shape like this: U rather than this: V
- A steep sharp V-type action will produce a higher ball flight, thus fighting the wind.
"I can shoot straight, if I don't have to shoot too far" - Scarlett - Gone with the Wind
Don't fight the wind, stay smooth, and keep your rhythm and tempo. Golf with the Wind.
